Vitamin Enhanced Sparkling Water Vitamin Fizz
Sparkling flavored Water! I bought two cans of Vitamin FIZZ from a local Asian supermarket the other day because of the word vitamin. Since I see Vitamin water all the time on the shelves, I thought why not give this Vitamin FIZZ a try. According to Vitamin FIZZ, “it is a lightly sparkling, flavor filled, refreshing beverage with an awesome boost of vitamins and minerals. Developed to quench your thirst and keep you healthy, it is a great alternative to typical calorie filled sodas.” Currently, they have four flavors available: Lemon Lime, Mango Orange, Melon Pineapple, and Wild Berry. I bought the first two flavors.
The design on the can for Vitamin FIZZ is very attractive based on the color and style. Since each flavor used combination of fruits, the main color of the can used one fruit color to represent the flavor it self. As for the different shapes fill with different colors on the can, I guess it represents the FIZZ or it could be different vitamins. I’ve got to say that it’s pretty unique.
Vitamin FIZZ Lemon Lime
Upon opening the can, there’s a lightly lemon lime sort of aroma coming out from the can and it’s hard to recognize it if you don’t sniff it like a dog around the opening of the can. The color of this Vitamin FIZZ is close to the real fresh lemon lime juice and same for the texture as well with the exception of carbonation. Since the name is vitamin fizz, there’s quite a lot of carbonation in the drink even though it says lightly carbonated. The first couple sips tasted crisp and the lemon lime flavor was definitely there. The tart taste was also a bit strong and the sweetness wasn’t that obvious either in the beginning. With the carbonation in the drink, the taste turns out to be quite good and makes it interesting to drink. As you drink more, you could tell that the lemon lime flavor was actually well balanced with the sweetness. As result, it’s very pleasant to drink, but there’s a sublet bitterness at the end after a while. The aftertaste was just a feeling of dryness in the mouth.
Vitamin FIZZ Mango Orange
The moment you open the can, there’s a strong mango orange aroma coming out from the can and after sniffing it for couple seconds, the mango scent seems to be a bit stronger than the orange scent. The color for this Vitamin FIZZ is in light orange color and the texture is same as your normal soda drinks. Again, the carbonation was a bit stronger than what it said on the bottle which is lightly carbonated. As for the taste, the first couple sips you could taste the orange flavor and not so much of the mango flavor. Also, the mango orange flavor tends to fade away very fast and the sweetness seems to be the main obvious taste. Also, the so called fruity taste wasn’t that fruity. As you drink more, the flavor gets a bit better and when your mouth processes the sip, it first hits by the orange flavor and then ends with light mango taste. The aftertaste is same as the Lemon Lime flavor.
As for nutrition facts, each flavor contains 15 calories in a 16 fl oz size can. The vitamins contained in the drink are: Vitamin C, B3, B12, B1, B6 and B5. The ingredients for Vitamin FIZZ Lemon Lime includes: Carbonated water, Sugar, Citric Acid, Natural flavors, Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate, Sucralose, Ascorbic Acid, Acesulfame Potassium, Gum Acacia, Calcium Disodium EDTA, Niacinamide, Ester Gum, D-Calcium Pantothenate, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride, Thiamin Hydrochloride, Cyanocobalamin. The ingredient for Vitamin FIZZ Mango Orange includes: Carbonated water, Sugar, Citric Acid, Natural flavors, Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate, BETA Carotene, Sucralose, Ascorbic Acid, Acesulfame Potassium, Calcium Disodium EDTA, Niacinamide, D-Calcium Pantothenate, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride, Thiamin Hydrochloride, Cyanocobalamin.
Overall, two flavors weren’t that bad at all and I like the Mango Orange flavor more than the Lemon Lime because of the taste. I can’t wait to try their other two flavors. If you like to drink soda drinks, you should try this Vitamin FIZZ. I think it would be better if they add certain percent of fruit juice in the drink.
