Taco Bell New Cherry Crème Frutista Freeze

Taco Bell added another flavor to their Frutista Freeze line and it’s called the New Cherry Crème Frutista Freeze! The flavor comes with two sizes: 16 oz and 20oz. According to Taco Bell, “A refreshing, frozen blend of bold cherry flavor and smooth vanilla flavor, swirled together to make one sweet treat.” Well, I’ve tried couple of their Frutista Freeze flavors in the past:  Orange N Crème Swirl and Pina Colada. Both didn’t taste exactly what they had claimed, but it was close enough to sense the flavors.

There’s a lightly sweetened crème cheery aroma coming out from this Frutista Freeze. The color of this freeze was definitely similar to the real cherry fruit and the texture was same as the 7-Eleven Slurpee. As for the taste, it was light in the beginning and you couldn’t really tell if it was the real cherry flavor. As you kept on sipping it, there’s actually a cherry flavor taste after you let the slush melt a bit. The cherry flavor wasn’t as strong as I thought it would be, but the taste was not bad. The sweet and sour tastes were balanced well with each other because it wasn’t overly sweetened or extremely sour. The vanilla flavor wasn’t that obvious either in the beginning, but showed up lightly after the slush had become liquid.  The aftertaste was full of dryness feeling in your mouth.

Overall, basically it was a sweet and sour Slurpee with cherry hint. I hope they can come up with good flavors next time. I think I will stick with their Piña Colada Frutista Freeze drink. If you let the Frutista Freeze melt a little bit or turn it into liquid, you could see the stuffs on the side of the cup that makes you think it’s nasty.
