I've actually found you can slip Starbuck's Via Instant Brew into just about anything for a quick and cheap coffee treat, doesn't even have to be hot!

I work out a lot and have a high demand physical job so I drink a TON of protein drinks and I've found that a little Via packet turns a sometimes bland work out shake into a healthy and light frappuchino. My work also has me traveling quite a bit and one of my grab and go go-to's is Boost's High Protein Chocolate drink. If I am in a rush in the morning, no time to wait in the extraordinarily long line at the hotel's Starbucks, I can dump the Columbia roast straight into the bottle and shake it up while I'm on my way out (or waiting for the truck we're supposed to unload to show up!) The immediate caffeine effect isn't as noticeable as say a fresh hot espresso, but I do find myself with a bit perked up feeling that lasts all morning, even if it is just from the delightful and refreshing flavour.

As for your peanut butter and coffee combo, it isn't crazy at all! One of my favourite treat smoothies is chocolate, peanut butter, banana, and coffee! Just pop the Via and everything else into a blender and ta'da! Or for an extra indulgent treat, sprinkle Via on chocolate and peanut butter ice cream (or whatever else may tickle your fancy), and enjoy. Chocolate and peanut butter have gotten along fabulously and the bolder coffee notes are almost twins with richer cocoa. It would only make perfect sense for coffee to step into a peanut butter combo and give chocolate the night off.

Though you inspire me to take it a step further, maybe experiment with peanut butter and Via cookies! I find you can use Via in just about any recipe in place of coffee and save yourself the tedious mucking about with brewing and cooling and clean up. I find it even gives a more prominent coffee flavour in recipes where it is often lost among the others.

Happy brewing!
