Starbucks New Lighter Blonde Roast Veranda Blend
If you drink Starbucks coffee or follow the daily news, then you have probably heard of Starbucks new Blonde Roast Coffees. The Blonde Roast line is lighter than any blends that the Starbucks has offered before. The newest addition to their coffee product line was added back in January of this year and it’s designed to appeal to the coffee drinkers who prefer lighter roasted coffee. The new Starbucks Blonde Roast Coffee comes with three different varieties: Starbucks Veranda Blend, Starbucks Willow Blend and Starbucks Decaf Willow Blend. It seems Starbucks is trying to compete with other fast food chains that offer lighter roast style coffees.
The package design for this new Blonde Roast was some what good because it used the gold color to represent the blonde and it was simple as well. This Blonde Roast Veranda Blend comes with a light dry smoky kind of coffee aroma when you first open it up. You could tell the coffee inside the package was well grind by just looking at it. As for the taste, I put 4 Tablespoon of this ground coffee with 12fl oz of water. The very first sip tasted watery and not sure if I was really drinking coffee. After couple more sips, the taste stays the same and it tasted clean as well. Also, the flavor did not linger in your mouth after you swallow down the sip. It didn’t taste like charcoal compared to other roasted ground coffees. As for acidity, it’s hardly detectable.
Overall, this Starbucks Blonde Veranda Blend is a mild coffee and it great for those who like to drink light coffee and it might be lighter than the coffees that are offered in fast food chain stores. People said that the lighter the roast, the higher the caffeine content. Well, it’s not sure because the caffeine for this blonde roast blend wasn’t that much based on the effect I get after chugging it down. By the way, just don’t make too much blonde jokes when you are ordering a blonde roast because it’s contagious.
