Starbucks New Chestnut Praline Latte Drink

According to numerous news sources, there’s a new holiday coffee drink in town from Starbucks and it’s available nation-wide starting today. This new latte drink has something to do with nuts and it was debuted in selected cities last year for tasting purpose. I thought I should give it a try so I went out to my local Starbucks store and got myself a tall size Chestnut Praline Latte drink topped with whipped cream and spiced praline crumbs.

The first thing I did was smell the drink right after I got it from the Starbucks employee because I didn’t want the aroma to be dissipated by the time I got home for photo shoot. My first reaction was that it smelled close to spiced latte. Since Starbucks created their own version of Praline, maybe they put small amount of cinnamons in there. The topping was pretty crunchy when you eat it and somewhat sweet. It wasn’t difficult to eat those praline crumbs while drinking the latte. As for the taste, the first sip wasn’t sweet at all and it’s kind of watery. It’s so light that you won’t consider this being a coffee latte drink at all. After couple sips, you won’t notice any nut flavors in the drink but if you stop for a minute and let the flavor sink in, you will notice a subtle hint of chestnut that exists in this drink. The aftertaste wasn’t that bad at all because of the light flavor. Drink or not to drink? I will drink it again. Check out the nutritional information here.
