SodaStream Home Soda Maker Genesis Value Pack
Turn Water into Soda with SodaStream! Recently, I received a SodaStream Home Soda Maker Genesis package for review and I had a lot of fun through out the whole making soda drinks process. The soda machine was very easy to use and makes great soda drinks. Currently, there are six different SodaStream machine models available: Fountain Jet, Pure, Genesis, Fizz, Crystal and Penguin. Each model has its own uniqueness in terms of materials and capacity, but there’s no huge difference between each one of them. You can find out more about SodaStream in here.
According to SodaStream, “A sodaStream soda maker lets your enjoy fresh, fizzy sparkling water and soda in seconds. No more lugging, storing or discarding heavy bottles of soda. Treat your family to a wise variety of great-tasting flavors, made without high-fructose corn syrup or aspartame. Show you care about the environment. With SodaStream, there are no more empty bottles and cans to recycle or discard, and none of the energy wasted by transporting billions of gallons of soda every day.”
The SodaStream Home Soda Maker Genesis Value Pack I received comes with a Sodamix Variety Pack (contains 12 flavors- regular and diet), MyWater Variety Pack (Contains 3 all-natural essences for sparkling water), two BPA free carbonating bottles for water, a soda machine and a 60L CO2 carbonator. Also, the machine has tow different colors that you can choose from when you buy it. Besides the value pack, I received an extract MyWater Variety Pack with 8 other SodaStream flavors to try out.
As for how to use the Soda Machine, it’s actually quite easy after you set it up. First you need to fill up one of the carbonate bottles with water at the water line level that’s indicated on the bottle. Second, you need to screw the bottle into the machine’s fitting until you can’t turn it anymore. Third, you need to find the gas dispenser button on top of the machine and start pressing it. The key is to wait for the loud buzz sound and usually three buzzes will give you average fizz. Once you are happy with how much carbonated you want for your drink, you unscrew the bottle slowly because there will be a loud sort of buzz sound when you unscrew it. After you take it our from the machine, all you need to do is to pour in the flavor into the carbonated bottle and then flip it up side down for couple time after you seal the bottle with a cap.
The SodaStream Sodamix offers different category flavors and in this package it includes Regular flavors, Diet Flavors, Energy Drink, Sparkling Teas and MyWater. After trying all the flavors, each flavors’ aroma was some what refreshing, but couple of them were hard to sense it. As for others, you could smell their scents coming out from the bottle when you pour it out into the BPA carbonated bottle. Also, the textures for each flavor were different based on which category flavor they belong to. The regular flavors appeared thicker than the diet flavors. The color was obviously lighter than the original liquid and the texture was smooth and clear with carbonation after you mixed with carbonated water. As for the taste, the flavors that stand out the most were Cola Free, Root Beer, Pete’s Choice and Cranberry Raspberry because they had the true flavor taste. As for others, the Ginger Ale had strong aroma coming out from the container before it was pour into the sparkling water but the taste was not that obvious after mixing it. The Green Tea Pomegranate Peach didn’t taste like green tea and it’s too artificial. The Energy flavor did taste close to other regular energy drinks that you normally drink. As for Diet Pink Grapefruit and Diet Lemon Lime, both didn’t taste similar to diet flavors, but the fruit flavor tastes were there. Now, the MyWater flavor essences tasted just as it said on the package “Unsweetened, all-natural flavor for making lightly flavored seltzer or sparkling water.”
