New York Home Style Lemon Iced Tea

Couple months ago, Multi Vitamin Energy Corp. introduced a new natural tea line to the public and it’s called New York Home Style Iced Tea. I found it in an organic store and since there are five boroughs in the New York City, they launched five different flavors to represent each borough. For each label on the bottle, it contains useful information about each borough in New York City. If you are a Yankee fan, you will be drinking the Lemon flavor because it’s located in the Bronx and if you are a Mets fan, the flavor will be Pineapple. As for other boroughs: Mango for Brooklyn, Green Tea for Staten Island and Pomogrante-Blueberry-Acai for Manhattan. Now my question is what determines each borough gets the specific flavor?

Upon busting the bottle cap, the only thing you can smell is the tea scent coming out of the bottle and the color of the drink will makes you think its brown sugar water. Sometimes you need to drink ¼ of the beverage to determine if it’s a good drink or not, but for this one is in the first few sips because of the strong flavor. The sweetness in the drink dominates other flavor and it should be called sweet iced tea instead of Lemon tea. There’s not much sourness in the drink and the taste is not better than the smell. Surprisingly, the aftertaste is not that bad even though the sweetness in this drink is very strong. The taste does not last that long and make sure you shake it before you drink because tea elements tend to settle at the bottom of the drink.  I guess it’s all about “Home Sweet Home.”

As for health benefits, it is a multi vitamin iced tea. It contains vitamin A, C, E, and B12.  The tea used in this drink is a premium brewed Black Tea using reverse osmosis water. The overly sweetened flavor is from organic cane sugar and contains 24g in this bottle. Also, the amount of calories in this bottle is 100. Other organic ingredients include: Ascorbic Acid, Citric Acid, Cyanocobalamin, Natural Flavors and its 100% natural.

This would be a great Lemon Iced Tea if it’s less sweet and some Lemon flavors in it. However, if you like to drink sweet beverages, then this might be one of your favorites. Since the Bronx tastes sweet, next one for me will be Queens flavor.
