New Monster Energy Zero Ultra Drink

Unleash the ultra beast! Yesterday, I stopped by one of the 7-Eleven stores around where I live to get some drinks and I saw a shining white sliver can in the fridge.  I picked it up and it says Monster Energy Zero Ultra. I couldn’t believe it!  Monster has gone white!  On the can it printed “White is the new black.” Also, it stated “They’ve been asking us for a new Monster drink.  A little less sweet, lighter-tasting, zero calories, but with a full load of our Monster energy blend.”

Monster Energy Zero Ultra

There’s a refreshing citrus kind of aroma coming out from the beautifully designed can with subtle hint of energy drink scent and it smelled very pleasant. The color and the texture looked similar to lemon lime flavored soda drinks. As for the taste, the very first sip taste close to Sierra Mist natural lemon-lime drink but with stronger flavor. After couple more sips, you will be greeted by a taste that’s similar to orange first when your mouth processes the sip and then ends with light lemon-lime taste after you swallow it down. It tasted totally different than the usual Monster Energy Drinks. Also, the speed of caffeine kicks in was pretty fast as well. The so called “energy drink taste” was light and hardly noticeable if you chuck it down fast, but of course the effect was obviously there. The sweet taste was right on the money and tartness was on the spot as well. After chugging down half of the can, the taste still remained as if it was your first sip. There wasn’t any obvious aftertaste at all.

Monster Energy Zero Ultra

Overall, this Monster Energy Zero Ultra tasted good! It was easy, smooth and pleasant to drink.  You really couldn’t tell if it was an energy drink or not because of the light taste. Somehow it reminds me of Sierra Mist Lemon-Lime drink.

Just don’t wait to let it get warm (for those sippers who like the jolt of energy throughout the entire day.) It gets extremely tart if you hadn’t touched it for 10 minutes or so after it got warm. It’s not unpleasant, but unexpected and your taste buds and saliva glands like to pucker up. You know that feeling, like you bit into a very unripe lemon. All and all, I love it! It was amazing cold, and it is still good warm. Just surprising is all.

after years of drinking coffee for that morning jolt, I was pleased when energy drinks came out. Im not thrilled at puring an unknown amount of chemicals into my bloodstream to replace sugar, but most opf the sugar flavored drinks are far too sweet. I just now tried Monster Energy Zero Ultra. And I poured the whole can into a coffee mug and downed it in 3 large sips. Within 5 minutes I now feel nautious, and wonder if I should go back to coffee. And then I think to myself, what kind of lifestyle or lack of something-exercise,nutrients,whatever do i have that I even need this caffeine in the first place. I wonder if Moses would have wanted one when wandering in the desert for 40 years. Something tells me that the nomadic people of 1000 years ago who probably had triple our energy, would have no idea why “modern” people would consume something that is as far away from natural as any liquid drink can be.

Funny, we have more ways to consume caffeine than I ever thought possible. Will historians look back at this time and go to their students…….”You also have to realize that along with a huge spike in crime, people going nuts over their gun rights, drive by shootings, unhappiness at work, everyone being so busy and yet unable to focus on what they really want, too much TV watching, depression, and insomnia, was a big increase in caffeine consumption.”

Why would I not be surprised if an executive at one of the big energy drink co’s one day gets caught saying “I wouldn’t drink that s&%t.”

Could it be that you downed it in 3 gulps? Even with coffee that would make me sick to my stomach…
