McDonalds Frozen Strawberry Lemonade
I just bought a new McCafe Frozen Strawberry Lemonade drink from McDonald and you can get one too at your local McDonalds today. According to McDonald, “It’s sweet. It’s Tangy. And it’s cool.” When I got the drink, I thought it was blood that they added to the drink because the strawberry syrup looked bloody as hell. Also, I was thinking what would be a good McDonald food choice that fits well with this new drink and I looked at their Double Filet-O-Fish, why not!
The way the McDonald employees prepared for this Frozen Strawberry Lemonade was by putting the frozen Lemonade first into the cup and uses it as the base for the drink. After the cup fill with frozen lemonade, then they added Strawberry flavored syrup on top of it. When you smell the aroma coming out from the plastic cup, it’s all lemonade scent. Also, the drink itself wasn’t totally frozen like the Slurpee drinks and it was more close to half frozen or similar to Dunkin Dounts new Mountain Dew Coolatta drink. Before you start sipping it, you should definitely stir up the lemonade with strawberry syrup because that way you could taste a more balanced flavor. As for the taste after the mix, the first couple sips tasted more toward lemonade and the Strawberry flavor was based on how well you mixed up the two flavors. After the frozen lemonade has melted a little bit, the taste gets better because you could finally taste the two flavors at once. When your mouth processes your sip, you first hit by the strong lemonade taste and then end with the subtle lightly sweetened Strawberry flavor. The flavor wasn’t sweet at all and it was quite the opposite due to large amount of frozen lemonade in the drink. The lemonade flavor was close to the real lemonade and at the end the drink seems to be more of a lemonade drink.
The ingredients for this McCafe Frozen Strawberry Lemonade include: Lemonade Base

Overall, this Frozen Strawberry Lemonade is a quite good drink if you like lemonade drinks. I wasn’t expecting this drink to be that good in the beginning based on how it looked and based on previous experiences with McDonald drinks.

I was surprised that McDonald actually made a good drink for McCafe.

I am impressed and surprised how much McDonald has improved in making their drinks. I stopped going to Starbucks for the past year or so.
I have been wanting to try this drink but the weather ain’t there yet for a frozen drink for me.
But your recommendation of having Fish Fillet Sandwich + the Frozen Strawberry Lemonade drink made it sound too delicious. I think I am going to try this next time.

Why do they need the Red 40 food coloring? They should have left that out. Sounds like the color is still off (blood-like) with the food dye. Just don’t do it.

Won’t even try it with the red food dye- known to carry carcinogenic material.

I’ve been wanting to try this since I first saw the commercial. I was disappointed with the McCafe smoothies but hopefully I’ll like this. I do like frozen lemonade drinks so I’ve got my fingers crossed.
Also, the one in the ads looks like they mixed it up a lot better than the one you got with strawberry syrup sinking to the bottom! Gotta love the discrepancies between advertisement food and real life food!
