Lipton Sparkling Iced Tea Raspberry Flavor

It looks like Lipton is moving into the soda territory with introducing a new line of tea drinks called Sparkling Iced Tea. This new line comes with three flavors: Lemonade, Raspberry and Peach. It’s flavored with other natural flavors according to the label on the can and each can come with 70 calories. Well, I found two of this lightly carbonated tea infused drinks at the Walgreen store today.

Lipton Sparkling Iced Tea RaspberryThere’s a lightly Raspberry aroma coming out from the can along with the subtle tea scent. I didn’t expect the Raspberry aroma to show up at all based on the past experience with tea drinks. You could tell there’s quite a lot of carbonation in the drink as you pour it out into a glass and the drink itself looked just like a normal tea drink without the carbonation. As for the taste, the very first sip tasted fruity sweet with subtle tea hint after you swallow it down. After couple more sips, you could sense there’s a subtle bitter taste at the end but it was smooth and pleasant to drink. Also, you could recognize the Raspberry flavor from the drink right away but it wasn’t that convincing compares to the real Raspberry fruit. The caffeine from the drink didn’t kick it in until half way of finishing the drink and the dryness feeling started to add up as well. The aftertaste wasn’t bad at all and towards the end I didn’t feel like I was drinking a tea drink.
