Holiday Cocktails Recipes From Original Moonshine
Couple weeks ago, I posted an article about Stillhouse introduces original Moonshine clear corn whiskey to the contemporary spirits and cocktail market, but there wasn’t any more detail information about what cocktail drinks you can make with original Moonshine besides their “The Shiner” signature cocktail. Well, New Year is around the corner and just in time to share some of great cocktails that they have created using original Moonshine for everyone to try out. Please drink responsible!
Butter Batter:
1 lb. brown sugar
1/4 lb. butter, pinch of salt,
½ tsp each ground nutmeg, cinnamon, and cloves.
Cream the butter and sugar together until smooth, as you would for a cake, then add the spices and mix well
Directions: Put one or two teaspoons of batter in a mug, add a shot of moonshine to it, then fill with 6oz of boiling water. Garnish with a cinnamon stick and stir well.
Pumpkin Shine:
1 ½ ounce Original Moonshine,
½ ounce lemon juice,
½ ounce honey,
¾ounce cranberry juice,
1 tbl spoon sweet pumpkin puree (just add ½ a cup of bakers sugar to 1 can of pumpkin puree and stir well.) Garnish with grated nutmeg and cinnamon.
Directions: Shake and strain over ice in a double old fashion glass.
Juniper Shine:
1 ½ ounce Original Moonshine,
¾ ounce lemon juice,
3/4 ounce juniper maple syrup,
½ stock of rosemary
Directions: Place all ingredients except the moonshine into a shaking tin and muddle. Add the moonshine and ice and shake hard for 7 seconds. Strain into a martini glass and garnish with ½ of a rosemary stock singed with a flame for the aroma.
Since I haven’t try it out the above three cocktails yet, I can’t say whether it tastes good or not.
