Dublin Dr.Pepper Imperial Pure Cane Sugar

Drinking a refrigerated Dublin Dr.Pepper drink on a hot humid day! Since everyone was saying how good the taste was so I had to try it out.  According to their history, “One of Morrison’s employees, pharmacist Charles Alderton, noticed how customers loved the smell of the soda fountain with its many fruit, spice and berry aromas. He wanted to invent a drink that tasted the wonderful way the soda fountain smelled. After much experimentation he finally felt he had hit on “something different.” Patrons at the drug store agreed.” You can find out more here.

Upon opening the cap, there’s a refreshing Dr.Pepper aroma coming out from the bottle. The color and the texture were the same as other Dr.Pepper or Coke Cola Soda drinks. As for the taste, the first sip taste like regular Dr.Pepper drinks and I was expecting it to be different. As you sip more, the taste started to show up and it was pleasant to drink. The taste of this Dublin Dr.Pepper compares to the taste of the special 125 years anniversary retro looking soda that’s made with real sugar was a bit heavier in terms of the sweet taste and the drink was also a lot smoother. The carbonation was less than the ones in the cans. The sweet taste was a bit different than regular Dr.Pepper. It has some sort of hint that’s hard to recognize that made the taste real good. The taste just gets better while you were drinking it. There’s a dryness feeling for the aftertaste.

Overall, I love the taste of this Dublin Dr.Pepper with imperial pure cane sugar. It’s too bad that you can’t get this Dr.Pepper drink easily. Wish there’s a pop shop on the east coast that carries classic soda drinks.

By far this is the best DR. Pepper I’ve ever had. I recently did a taste test between this one and HFCS DR. Pepper. At first I could barely notice the difference, but then after the 2nd and 3rd taste you can most definitely taste the difference! The cane sugar one is way better and it “rolls” along the palate, and it’s not syrupy.
