Duane Reade Delish Premium Brewed White Tea

1

Never thought a drug store chain in New York City will come up with its own food and beverage brand. Well, Duane Reade came up with a brand called DR Delish line that offers so called high quality food and beverage taste products to their customers last year. For me, I want to know if their beverages actually taste good or not so that I can have another alternative when comes to picking what beverage to drink. After five minutes of looking at their beverage freezer from left to right, decided to buy their premium brewed White Tea with Pear juice flavored drink because of the nice looking pear picture on the bottle.

Upon opening the bottle cap, it’s very difficult to tell what the scent is because of the light aroma from the bottle and even with a green pear on the bottle will not convince you that this drink has the pear flavor in it. After few sips, you can barely tell that it has pear flavor because of the strong sweet flavor in the drink. It basically dominates over other flavors. After drinking half bottle of the white tea, finally you get convinced that it does contain pear flavor and the taste is not better than the scent. As for the aftertaste it’s just as bad as other sweet tea. The taste does last a bit longer than other sweet tea and it makes you want to drink more water.

For health concerns, it contains vitamin C, B3, B5, B6, and B12. The tea used in this drink is a premium brewed white tea and contains 10% juice. The overly sweetened flavor is from sugar and contains 16g in this bottle. Also, the amount of calories in this bottle is 60. Other ingredients include: Ascorbic Acid, Citric Acid, Pyridoxine, Natural Flavors and L-Theanine.

This White Tea is too sweet and should have more Pear flavor in it. The price for this kind of drink, I will choose other alternatives. Maybe next time I will try their Delish water.
