Dad’s Blue Cream Soda
Who is your daddy! Old Fashioned Soda! I got this soda drink because of its name. Blue Cream Soda is made by Dad’s Root Beer Company and according to their history, “Dad’s is one of America’s most popular soft drinks. The beverage was developed in Chicago in February of 1937, and its unique and delicious flavor has earned it a loyal following. Chicago Distilled Water & Beverage Company filed the first Dad’s trademark registration on September 24,1938. The Dad’s Root Beer Company, Chicago, filed a trademark registration February 14, 1939.” You can find more information here.
Upon busting the cap, there’s a refreshing bubble gum kind of aroma coming out from the bottle. It’s like those double mint bubble gum. The color of this soda was just like the name Blue and the text was similar to all other soda drinks. As for the taste, the very first sip tasted like vanilla ice cream. It wasn’t overly sweet at all and it was smooth too. After couple more sips, the sweet taste sort of taking over and it tasted like those two dollar blue cotton candy. After you swallow down the sip, there’s a subtle tart taste. Also, after chug down half of the bottle, my mouth was full of dryness and the sweet taste feeling.
The ingredients for this Dad’s Blue Cream Soda include: Water, High Fructose Corn Syrup, Natural and Artificial Flavor, Citric Acid, Sodium Benzoate (As a Preservative), and FD&C BLUE #1. Also, it contains 200 calories and 49g of sugar. There’s no Caffeine in this soda drink.
Overall, it was just too sweet for me because I felt like I had couple cotton candies after finishing half of the bottle. If you like sweet vanilla or cotton candy, then this drink might be the one for you. It would be perfect if the sweet taste wasn’t that strong. By the way, it’s hard to find this drink in your local stores or retailer stores. You need to find it online if you want to try it out.
