Last day of 2010, what are you drinking right now? For me, Honest Tea. Real Taste. Real Tea. Honest! Well, I have tried couple flavors from Honest Tea in the past and the experience wasn’t bad at all. Now for this Heavenly Lemon Tulsi, I hope it won’t make an exception. Anyway, according to Honest Tea, Tulsi is also known as “holy Basi.”  Tulsi is a naturally caffeine free herb that has long been revered in its native India as a healing balm for mind, body, and spirit. Honest infuse organic Tulsi with lemon peel, lemon myrtle and other stuff to make the ordinary tea to a heavenly tea. Really, heavenly tea?

I love the label design for this Honest Tea Heavenly Lemon Tulsi flavored tea drink because of the beautiful beach scene within the T and I guess this is supposed to represent the word “Heavenly.” By the way, even the color cap is part of the whole unique design. Upon popping the cap, there’s a strong herb like aroma coming out from the bottle with a subtle hint of lemon and I assume the herb scent is the Tulsi. Some how I love the smell a lot and it just sets a great tone for you to continue on with the drink. The texture is not any different than other tea drinks and it appears they all have the same color. Some times, other tea drinks have small tea leaves at the bottom, but this Heavenly lemon Tulsi does not. My reaction to the first couple sips were “Hmmm, that doesn’t taste heavenly at all.” because there’s no taste besides the strong herb(Tulsi) aroma. As you drink more, you will sense the subtle lemon taste and you could tell the drink itself wasn’t sweet at all comparing to other tea drinks like Joe Tea, Snapple etc. The Tulsi scent with lemon tea just makes a perfect combination taste. The sweet and sour taste was very well balanced too. After all, the taste was smooth, refreshing and easy to drink. There’s no aftertaste for this Honest Tea and it did made me said “Ahhh” and “Mmmm”.

Since this Honest Tea drink is USDA organic, the ingredients that make this Heavenly Lemon Tulsi taste so great should be full of organic ingredients and they include: Purified Water, Organic Cane Sugar, Organic Herbal Blend (Organic Green Rooibos, Organic Lemongrass, Organic Tulsi, Organic Lemon Peel, and Organic Lemon Myrtle), Organic Lemon juice concentrate, Organic Lemon extract. Contains  Less Than 1% juice. Also, it’s caffeine free. The calorie in this Honest Tea drink is 60.

Overall, I love this Heavenly Lemon Tulsi tea from Honest Tea because it just tastes awesome. I had few herbal tea drinks before in the past, but nothing tasted like this one and I won’t call it taste like heaven, but it’s getting there. I can’t wait to try their other flavors.
