Aloic Organic Aloe Vera Drink with Pulp

Couple days ago, I received a package from Epicurex and inside the package contains two samples of Aloic Organic Aloe Vera drink with pulp beverages. I had aloe drinks in the past, but organic aloe drinks? I thought by default Aloe Vera drinks are organic. The drink is consider certified organic and has no preservatives, no artificial colors or flavors according to the statements on the bottle. How do we know if it’s really organic? By the way, the company mission is “to create superior beverages that taste like sea breeze and sunshine.”

Aloic Organic Aloe Vera Drink with Pulp

There’s a lightly sweetened aloe vera aroma coming out from the bottle when you first pop it open.  The scent of aloe vera smelled a bit stronger than other aloe drinks and it doesn’t have the strong plastic smell either. Since this aloe drink comes with pulp, you could actually see the small chunks of aloe in the drink. The texture and color are similar to all other branded aloe vera beverages. As for the taste, the very first sip tasted watery with subtle tart taste at the end after you swallow down the sip. After couple sips, it still tasted watery and not sure if they put any sugar in the drink.  As you drink more, the subtle tart taste seems to be adding up a little and it becomes some sort of grape flavor. Why grape flavor?  After chugging down half of the bottle, the aloe vera still tasted the same which is a good thing. There weren’t any aftertaste effects.  The drink itself was easy and smooth to drink. The aloe vera fragments helps the drinking experience a bit more interesting.

Aloic Organic Aloe Vera Drink with Pulp

Overall, I was surprised that this aloe vera drink didn’t taste sweet like other branded aloe vera drinks. I was expecting it to be sweet and it’s a bit watery for me to drink. I guess that’s why it’s an organic drink? If you like aloe vera drinks, you can try it out if you like. My question is why would they add grape flavor to Aloe vera drink if it’s going to be an organic drink? Thanks for sending the samples!
