1893 from the maker of Pepsi Cola Ginger Cola
Premium Cola Spiced with real ginger! Pepsi is rolling out a new product line called 1893. According to their website, “1893 from the makers of Pepsi-Cola is rewriting the history of refreshment with a bold combination of Kola nuts, Real sugar and sparkling water to deliver a totally unexpected cola experience.” The inventor of Pepsi-Cola is Caleb Davis Bradham, he introduced “Brad’s Drink” in 1893, and then renamed the drink to “Pepsi-Cola” in 1989 and later on known as Pepsi.
There’s a light Ginger aroma coming out from the can after you open it and there’s no sign of Cola aroma at all. As for the taste, the very first sip got me coughing right after I swallow down the sip due to its strong tangy taste. After couple more sips, my mouth starts to feel the subtle spicy taste from the result of drinking this cola. If you take a big sip and close your mouth for one second, your nose will feel uncomfortable and makes you cough. I never had a ginger flavored drink with this strong tangy taste before except the ginger drink that I made for myself to cure cold which is made from fresh ginger with real brown sugar cooked together. In terms of cola taste, I would say 70% ginger and 30% cola. The strong tangy taste never goes away and every time I sip it, it made me to cough throughout the whole tasting process.
